Short thread today because it’s a holiday. Clay Holmes is making his first career start for the Pirates today after making two relief appearances earlier this season. He’s their 16th-ranked prospect on MLB Pipeline and owns a 3.39 ERA in the minors this year. Rich Hill is coming off a great outing against Colorado during which he struck out 10 and allowed one run in 6 2/3 innings. He threw 110 pitches, which is the most he’s thrown as a Dodger. Hopefully his finger doesn’t give him issues.

The Dodgers made a trade today. Dustin does not approve (of the trade or my pun).

——

Walker Buehler will not need three rehab starts like initially reported.

This could line him up to return in San Diego next week or at home against the Angels over next weekend.

——

Julio Urias is progressing.

Him touching 91 is promising. I still wouldn’t expect a whole lot out of him this season, but any progress is good news.

About Alex Campos

I've been writing about the Dodgers since I graduated from Long Beach State, where I covered the Dirtbags in my senior year. I'm either very good or very bad at puns.
