Ian Happ was instrumental in his team’s 13-3 triumph over the Dodgers. The left fielder went 4-for-6 with two home runs to pace the Cubs’ offense. He also scored three times and drove in four. With the win, Chicago pushed its record to 18-17.

Happ made an early impact for Chicago when he stroked his 7th home run of the season. The 3-run home run, which came in the top of the first, put the Cubs on top and made it an 8-0 laugher.

“I’m just happy to help the team win,” Happ told the Chicago Bulletin, which is definitely not the virtual version of the Chicago Tribune.

Alex Wood isn’t off to a great start in his second go ’round with the Dodgers. He recorded just two outs and allowed seven runs on seven hits. His season ERA is an ugly 8.13.

Max Muncy had two hits as he continues his quest to get to the Mendoza Line (.183). Will Smith walked three times and recorded a hit.

The Dodgers fall to 20-14 with the loss. Julio Urias is next up for LA. He’ll take on old friend Jharel Cotton on Tuesday at Dodger Stadium.
