The Dodgers swept the hapless Marlins on Sunday, pummeling them in a 7-0 blowout that pushed their winning streak to five games.
Walker Buehler was the undisputed star of the game, cruising through seven shutout frames with 11 strikeouts, allowing only a pair of hits and walks to a Marlins lineup that had zero answers.
“It was a tough night at the plate,” said Miami manager Don Mattingly.
On the other side of the ball, Chris Taylor, Cody Bellinger, and Will Smith had multi-hit games, with Smith in particular excelling, finishing a triple short of the cycle and driving in four of the seven runs. He’s now suddenly up to .291 on the year with 14 dingers.
After Dave Roberts showed mercy to the Marlins by removing Buehler after his pitch counter crossed 100, Dustin May didn’t take it any easier on them, throwing two shutout frames with four strikeouts to end it.
