Dodgers 7, Cardinals 2: Albert Pujols makes magical return to St. Louis with homer

Albert Pujols returned to St. Louis and made an immediate impact as he helped the Dodgers take the game over the Cardinals, 7-2. They’ve bounced back nicely from their series defeat against the Giants.

A bit of an emergency recap since I was busy during the game, but basically they sorta did what they had to do against starter J.A. Happ.

They scored five runs on a Steven Souza Jr. double, an RBI ground out, and three solo homers, including a magical one by Pujols in his return, and then Justin Turner and Will Smith.

In a pen game, Corey Knebel and Evan Phillips allowed a run each, but Alex Vesia, Shane Greene, Phil Bickford, Brusdar Graterol, Blake Treinen, and Neftali Feliz kept things scoreless.

Unrelated, but the Giants homer media is at it again.

Joe Davis maybe hit the subtweet.

The Dodgers improve to 88-51 on the season but remain 1-game back in the NL West as the Giants continue to beat the Rockies.
