Yet another off day during this All Jeter break.  Have another Kershaw and Ellis comic while we wait to see if Joc is indeed joining the team in St. Louis and/or Ethier for Middlebrooks.  I have been sitting on this one for a while now and never got around to posting it.  I figured an off-day would be as good a time as any to share.  Enjoy.

Unreal. Simply unreal.  Its something we have all been waiting for and always knew it was inevitable.  Clayton Kershaw finally has a no hitter under his belt.  This kid keeps getting better and better and is an absolute joy to watch.  At the risk of sounding sappy, we are all blessed to be able to watch him all these years.  I loved the Beckett no hitter, but this one feels much more special.  Its Clayton. He’s OUR guy. Homegrown pitching ace.  Everything is awesome!

I am still geeking out about it.  But the other night, I told myself that I would redesign and expand on the victory GIF if they held on to win (Greinke’s game). As they did I spent the day drawing and editing an expanded form of the original Puig victory GIF, compete with bubbles..  Seems like an appropriate time to debut it.  Enjoy. #DanCeparty

Hooray! We have a first rounder!  I am excite! Grant Holmes has signed for about 500K over slot for the 22 second pick, rounding out to $2.5 million in sweet bonus cash.  Not bad kid.

Since its been a while since I have done any photoshop, I figured now would be a good time.  Now all we need to do is get him a battery mate named Watson and we are all set!

Well how about that.  A solid pitching performance AND offensive production? What planet are we on?  SVS really came up big with not one, but TWO dingers.  I nearly fell out of my chair when he hit the second one mostly because it came WITH RUNNERS ON BASE! Such a rare treat with this team.  In other news, Matt Kemp has started to hit and is drawing walks.  Haters, please recognize that you suck and are wrong.  Also go away with your Kemp hate.  Justin Turner continues to be productive now that he has regular playing time. I was a fan of his signing in the off season and am even more so now that he has helped alleviate the loss of Uribe.  And the biggest news of all, the Dodgers won on a day the giants lost.  Woohoo!  Move to 8.5 games back. Still a huge hill to climb, but baby steps people. Don’t give up yet.

Originally I had an idea for a comic with SVS breaking into a dark room saying “Come with me if you want to win.” but I remembered that it was Haren pitching and it needed to be the Peanuts theme.  Ah well. This still made me laugh.  Good ole Danny Haren.

Good ole Danny Haren, never the hero.

Well yeah. Dan Haren continues to disappoint.  Poor ole Danny Haren.

In other news, this will be my last comic done on the fly while traveling.  Hope to be able to post more text and have the quality of the comic images to improve once I get back to my home workstation.

Enjoy.

Poor Danny Haren. Watching all those home runs leave the park must be hell on his neck.

Sigh.  So much for the offensive outburst being a turning point.  The amazing line up that scored 12 runs the night before only managed 2 runs against Edinson Volquez.  Ugh.  Back to 7.5 back of the division lead. Plenty of baseball left but wow, this is yucky.

Undead bats turn out to just be dead.

Woohoo! Hanley’s back!  Han Ram went 4-4 with a pair of dingers.  Hooray! Now if only he could sprinkle some of that production into other games then we should be in good shape.  Matty also got out of his slump going 2-4 with a pair of RBI.

Great game. Dodger bats aren’t dead yet!
