On this episode of “Dugout Blues,” Jared Massey (Dodgers Nation) and have Mike on the podcast for the second time. Despite shoddy internet on Jared’s end, Mike hung around for a bit before having to bail.
There wasn’t much to talk about, except for all of the trades and reported signing of Brandon McCarthy (which should be official any time now).
We’ve never really witnessed a day like Wednesday, and it was one for the ages. We go over every trade — official and unofficial — and break them down thoroughly. I think I speak for Jared and Mike in saying it was tough to see Matt Kemp go, but we understand why he was dealt. And we all like Dee Gordon, but we were also all thrilled to see the return the Dodgers got for him.
The takes, not especially hot, weren’t that dissimilar from each other’s (shocking). Of course, Jared wasn’t a big fan of giving up Andrew Heaney to get Howie Kendrick, but what does he know anyway?
We also talk, briefly, about this tweet from Mike I missed during the craziness last week.
This is crude and I apologize but http://t.co/ESTxm23c3b

So now, we’ve had Mike on twice and Daniel on once. No pressure, Chad.
Finally, we close with a strong Q&A session, with everyone really wanting to know if the Dodgers are going to try to extend Kendrick’s contract.
