On this episode of “Dugout Blues,” Jared Massey (Dodgers Nation) and I kick off the new year with some fresh, hot takes (not really).
First, we’re poor. Second, we want to go to spring training. So, we’re asking for your help. Here’s a short blurb (written by Jared) from our Patreon page.
“Over the past few years, Dustin and I have covered all our own costs in order to bring you exclusive content about the Dodgers’ system, from long drives to minor league games, to trips to Arizona for spring training. We enjoy being able to see players in person and report back to you, especially when we know you may not have ever seen them. We want to do it again this year.”
We are most appreciative of any help you’re willing to offer. And if you can’t, no worries. Times are tough, and it’s totally understandable.
OK, enough with the whoring out. There wasn’t a lot to talk about this week, seeing as almost nothing happened in Dodgerland. Naturally, Jared and I filled an hour by talking about prospects — for the most part. We also talked about new MLB Commissioner Rob Manfred’s proposal to make defensive shifting illegal. This is beyond dumb.
As usual, we finish with a Q&A session. It’s a dead time of the offseason, so it’s nice we received some good questions.
