Not a ton on the news front. The Dodgers promoted Chris Heisey back to the majors after he was with the Blue Jays for a month or so. To make room for him on the 40-man roster, they designated Daniel Coulombe for assignment. He’s a lefty with a low-90s fastball and a decent breaking ball. I’m guessing he’ll get picked up by some other team.

Howie Kendrick is going to join the team in Anaheim, but he isn’t going to be activated. It remains to be seen when that happens. Chase Utley has been decent, but he’s out today after getting hit while turning a double play last night. Justin Turner is getting his first start at second base since May 8 and is playing the position for the first time since June 4. This is so Corey Seager can get in the lineup, which isn’t a bad thing. Let’s just hope there aren’t too many balls hit Turner’s way today. He’s not good defensively at second base.

Finally, there is another Petriello in the world. Yasiel Sandy Vin Petriello was born yesterday. Congrats to Mike and Emilie on the birth of their future Hall of Famer.
