After a mini-sweep of the Giants in April, the rivalry will now resume with the Dodgers just getting done with a series win in Chicago against the White Sox.
In theory, Walker Buehler against Jakob Junis should be a huge advantage for the Dodgers, but based on their numbers this year, it could actually be the worst matchup of the series.
Buehler’s 3.84 ERA would easily be a career worst, and his 3.87 FIP and 4.11 xERA show he’s deserved every bit of it so far. Meanwhile, Junis’ 2.51 ERA is a bit flattering, but he’s still having a career best year with the Giants so far with a 3.73 FIP and 3.97 xERA, both a run better than his career numbers.
The Dodgers lineup will look to stay on track after yesterday, but hopefully Buehler and the pen can get back to their early season dominance.
