The Dodgers made a minor trade earlier today acquiring Esteury Ruiz from the A’s.

The Dodgers are acquiring outfielder Esteury Ruiz from the A's, a source confirms.

Ruiz swiped 67 bases in 2023 and had been DFA'd. @Alden_Gonzalez was on it.

Ruiz stole 67 bases in 2023, but hasn’t really shown much ability to hit or field at the Major League level. He’s only 25 and has options left so it’s a worthwhile lottery ticket. Carlos Duran heads to the A’s organization, and Kyle Hurt was transferred to the 60-day IL to make room on the 40-man.
