After back-to-back games of back-and-forth explosive baseball, it was only the Diamondbacks that brought out the big guns today, going off on Justin Wrobleski in a massive eight-run second inning that basically proved decisive. The Dodgers saw their four-game winning streak snapped in the 14-3 loss.

Long story short, Wrobleski gave up eight runs in a 2nd inning outburst that just seemed to snowball on him. The lone bright spot being that he did give them 5.1 innings, taking one for the team: 5.1 IP, 10 H, 10 R, 2 BB, 2 K, 99 Pitches.
Michael Grove then got five outs, giving up two runs (one earned), before Enrique Hernandez finished the game, giving up two runs himself.
All in all? Not a terrible result if they were going to lose, as the Dodgers rested the rest of their pen.
Offensively, the Dodgers did push three runs across on nine hits, but it obviously wasn’t nearly close so whatever. Amusingly, the D-backs used more of their relief corp.

The Dodgers will look to rebound tomorrow and take the series in the final game of the four-game set, which will start at 10:10 AM HT/1:10 PM PT/4:10 PM ET. It’ll be Jack Flaherty looking to limit the homers against Eduardo Rodriguez for the Diamondbacks.
