Hey, everybody! I’m back! Surely the Dodgers will reward me with a wonderful gam … and it’s gone.
Yes, Justin Wrobleski got the doors blown off him by the Brewers offense and the Dodgers predictably never got going. Having a trap game of sorts coming off a series win at the Padres against a team as good as the Brewers was always going to be difficult, and unfortunately things went basically as feared in a 5-1 loss.
======
Justin Wrobleski’s start against the Brewers in the 1st went single, single, homer, pop out, single, single, single, sac fly, walk, and strikeout. That’s four runs and being lucky to only give up that many.
Game was basically over at that point, but the Brewers added another in the 2nd on a one-out single and two-out double to push their lead to 5-0.
As he often has, though, Wrobo settled in and gave the team much-needed innings. He faced the minimum after the double, as a walk was erased by a double play, and that was all he surrendered.
It’ll happen to him, but he gave them length: 5 IP, 8 H, 5 R, 2 BB, 4 K, 100 Pitches.
Paul Gervase entered to get the 6th and 7th, doing so while only giving up a walk and a single in separate innings. Jonathan Hernandez then finished the game off with a scoreless 8th,
On the other end, the Dodgers did generate some chances against Logan Henderson, but weren’t able to capitalize.
So what’s new?
They stranded a lead-off walk in the 1st, left the bases loaded in the 4th, and didn’t move a lead-off single in the 5th.
Against their pen, they got a pair of walks in the 6th that also went for nothing, but got a gift to get on the board in the 7th. A Teoscar Hernandez grounder led to an error, then Dalton Rushing followed with a single to snap his hitless streak, and later it was Shohei Ohtani with one out for a sac fly to make it 5-1 Brewers. That was it.
Max Muncy was hit by a pitch on the hand/wrist area and exited Friday's game.

He's been one of the Dodgers' best players this year, leading the team in home runs (12) while playing great defense at third base.
The Dodgers will hope it's not too serious.pic.twitter.com/YtDoxhn0YT
Unfortunately, in the 8th they got another chance after a walk and then a HBP on Max Muncy, who took a fastball to the wrist. He exited and all the Dodgers can do is pray it’s not broken. Of course, that also led to nothing and they then went quietly in the 9th for the loss.
Just waiting for news on Max, basically.
