Dodgers @ Diamondbacks June 4, 2026: Wrobleski start as the Dodgers look for a series win, Evan Philips joins OKC for rehab assignment

The Dodgers (40-22) got another dominant pitching performance from Shohei Ohtani and the bullpen yesterday, as only four Diamondbacks reached base in a 7-0 Dodger win. Ohtani allowed two hits and a walk over six innings and had three hits and two walks as a batter, which is pretty insane. The offense put up five runs early on Zac Gallen and added two more in the seventh, totaling 16 hits in the game and putting up seven runs despite leaving 14 runners on base. Today, the Dodgers look for a four-game series win and have the chance to move eight games up in the West over Arizona and the Padres, who lost to the Phillies earlier.

Justin Wrobleski gets the start following one of the best starts of his career against the Phillies. Wrobo struck out a career-high nine batters over seven one-hit, one-run innings. He goes against Ryne Nelson, who got lit up in Seattle his last time out. Nelson allowed four earned runs (one unearned) and seven hits in 5 1/3 innings, but allowed two homers in the second and two homers in the third innings. Nelson started the second game of the season against the Dodgers and allowed four runs in 4 2/3 innings. Both homers came in the third. Alex Freeland hit a one-out solo homer, Nelson walked the next two batters and Mookie Betts hit a three-run bomb.

As was foretold yesterday, Ohtani is out of the lineup following his start yesterday. He’s expected to be ready for his next start next week, but is dealing with a blister on his throwing hand. Will Smith DH’s with Dalton Rushing starting behind the plate, and Betts slides into the leadoff spot.

In other news, a couple pieces of news out of OKC. Evan Phillips joins the Comets to begin his rehab assignment after undergoing Tommy John exactly a year ago. Hyeseong Kim is also playing a new position.

Kim hasn’t played third since 2020, but will be playing there tonight for OKC.

First pitch is scheduled for 6:40 PM PT and will be on SportsNet LA.
