The Dodgers also made a roster move for a fresh arm, demoting Landon Knack and calling up Charlie Barnes. To make room on the 40-man, Will Smith was placed to the 60-day IL.

The Dodgers selected the contract of LHP Charlie Barnes and optioned RHP Landon Knack to Triple-A Oklahoma City. In order to make room on the 40-man roster, the Dodgers placed catcher Will Smith on the 60-day injured list.

That seems bad, but we already got that bad news earlier this week when they said he’d be out until at least mid-August. That in itself is bad enough.
