While we wait for the flurry of moves that are sure to come (probably minutes after this went live), how about a podcast? On this episode of “Dugout Blues,” Jared Massey (Dodger Blue) and welcome a couple guests (fantasy baseball league winners Jason and Sean) to talk everything hot stove.
Zack Greinke is no longer a Dodger. He agreed to a 6-year, $206.5 million contract with the … Arizona Diamondbacks? No one saw this coming, and it stings badly. Despite the loss of the second ace, all is not lost for the Dodgers.
The Dodgers are set to sign Hisashi Iwakuma to help mitigate the loss of Greinke. He was a solid pitcher in Seattle and should be a solid pitcher in Los Angeles. The deal is reportedly for three years and $45 million. The Dodgers lose their first-round draft pick, but this might not be their only signing of a qualified-offer free agent (Jason Heyward, please).
The Aroldis Chapman rumors were in their infancy when we recorded. Since, the Dodgers have agreed to a trade for him, unless they haven’t. Listen to our hours-old takes on the possibility.
Chase Utley is reportedly coming back. It’s not the biggest move by any means, but it’s a decent one.
To close, we have a listener Q&A. Great questions. Keep them coming.
