On this episode of “Dugout Blues,” Jared Massey (Dodger Blue) and I welcome Dodgers’ first base prospect Cody Bellinger to the progrum.
He was gracious enough to give us 15 minutes of his time to talk spring training, his unlocked power, the Little League World Series and what he’s looking forward to in 2016 — among other things.
Following Bellinger, we talk about Frankie Montas and his surgery to remove a rib (similar to what Josh Beckett experienced a few years ago). He’s out 2-4 months. It’s not preferable, but he shouldn’t have his development stunted too much by the procedure.
Corey Seager finds himself second to none on two new prospect lists — MLB.com and Baseball America. He’s 4-for-4 with FanGraphs still to come. He might actually be the consensus top prospect in baseball.
To close, a limited Q&A session (probably because we recorded on a Saturday instead of Sunday).
