Podcast: ‘Dugout Blues’ episode 146 – Ross Stripling returns, Sierra, Arzaga

On this episode of “Dugout Blues,” Jared Massey (Dodger Blue) and I welcome back Dodgers’ pitching prospect Ross Stripling. This is his third (!) appearance. Either he can tolerate us or we have some incriminating evidence against him.

Stripling talks about coming back from Tommy John surgery, 2016 expectations and what he’s looking forward to most.

The Dodgers made the Yaisel Sierra deal official — 6 years, $30 million. They’re going to try to develop him as a starter, but he has the stuff to be a big-time reliever if starting doesn’t work.

Louis Coleman — yes, the Louis Coleman, apparently — signed a $750,000 deal with the Dodgers. It’s a no-risk, minimal-reward situation for the Dodgers’ bullpen. Maybe Coleman can recapture his past success.

Oscar Arzaga is the most recent international signee, and he isn’t insignificant. I wrote about him last week and we talked about him on the podcast.

We also touched on the Andrew Friedman Q&A with the L.A. Times from last week. We’re basically in agreement — the process makes sense.

Finally, a Q&A session. Much better than last week’s. Thank you for the inquiries.
