On this episode of “Dugout Blues,” Jared Massey (Dodger Blue) and I get ready for a reasonably large series against the Giants this week while also recapping the past week’s action.
The Dodgers suck against left-handed pitching. This isn’t a secret. There are a ton of under-performers, and there isn’t much that can be done about it now. Here’s hoping some guys start to pull their weight.
Clayton Kershaw is back. You’ve read about it, now hear us talk about it.
Rich Hill is, after all, human. He had a rough start in Arizona. But it happens. He is, in fact, not a robot.
Yasmani Grandal is dealing with a bit of a wrist/shoulder injury. Getting him healthy before the playoffs is rather important.
Brett Anderson is, surprisingly, coming back. Scott Kazmir and Brandon McCarthy‘s statuses remain to be seen.
Alex Wood is coming back. He might be quite the weapon for the Dodgers out of the bullpen for the rest of this month and in the playoffs.
In the minors, the OKC Dodgers were ousted from the playoffs. The Great Lakes Loons were not. The Loons won the Midwest League Championship (during our recording, no less). Congratulations to them. It was a strong season.
Finally, a decent Q&A. Here’s hoping for more action from you the listener.
