‘Dugout Blues’ episode 176 – Farewell Vin, Awards, NLDS preview

On this episode of “Dugout Blues,” Jared Massey (Dodger Blue) and I welcome back Daniel Brim from this very weblog to talk about all things Dodgers as the regular season draws to a close.

First off, we all talk about Vin Scully‘s final broadcast (we recorded in the morning) and what he has meant to us. Spoiler alert: He has meant a lot.

Then, we talk about the pending postseason awards. Mike Trout is about to get screwed again, while Clayton Kershaw‘s back injury will screw him out of another Cy Young Award.

We also talk about the Dodgers’ final week and how the games don’t really mean much.

Finally, the remainder of the Arizona Fall League roster was announced. Joining Cody Bellinger, Willie Calhoun and Alex Verdugo are Chris Anderson, Joe Broussard, Ralston Cash, Corey Copping and Tim Locastro. Aside from the big three, Broussard and Cash are decent middle-relief prospects. The others, not so much.

Finally, a Q&A. Thank you for the questions all season. Please keep them coming.
