MLB postpones Game 2 of NLDS until Sunday morning

We knew the start of Saturday’s regularly scheduled game would be delayed, but not by this much.

Sigh. If you’re looking for a silver lining, this gives the Dodger bullpen an extra day to rest after being used for four innings yesterday. In particular, it gives Kenley Jansen a day off between his 27-pitch outing and however many pitches he ends up throwing tomorrow.

Currently, the plan is for the teams to fly out after the game for a Monday afternoon contest slated to start at 1 p.m. It’d be awfully nice if the powers that be switched the start times of this series and the Cubs-Giants series on Monday. That game is scheduled to start at 6:30 p.m. and there don’t appear to be any weather issues in Chicago.

Perhaps this will happen, but just prepare yourself for a quick turnaround come Monday. Also prepare yourself for a very similar game thread to the one that was posted a half hour ago when tomorrow morning rolls around.

Rich Hill will still take on Tanner Roark. First pitch will be scheduled for 10:08 a.m. Pacific time. Wake up and watch the Dodgers and not handegg.
