The Dodgers announced on Monday they have signed 26 international free agents. Of the 26, I covered seven of the signings, with Jaime Perez (outfielder from Cuba) being the only exception.

If the reported Perez signing is to be believed, they’re up to 27 players so far. Most of these kids are just that, kids. They’re 16-18 years old, so don’t expect them to become household names for a handful of years (if ever).
Baseball America has been able to confirm three bonuses thus far:
- Heredia, $300,000
- A. Valdez, $300,000
- Leonard, $200,000
The Dodgers have $4.75 million (plus whatever they acquired from Baltimore in the Jason Wheeler deal) to spend before June 15 of next year, but can’t spend more than $300,000 on any single player.

Just because these signees aren’t in the seven figures doesn’t mean they’re not decent prospects. I did this last year on the first day of the international signing period, but here’s a look at the IFAs the Dodgers have signed for $300,000 or less who landed in my Top 100 prospects list:
- Johan Mieses (16): $40,000
- Ariel Sandoval (20): $150,000
- Keibert Ruiz (27): $140,000
- Jose Miguel Fernandez: $200,000
- Dennis Santana (33): $170,000
- Leonardo Crawford (35): $47,500
- Angel German (52): $75,000
- Jefrey Souffront (62): $60,000
- Daniel Padilla (74): $200,000
- Felix Osorio (83): $205,000
- Jhoan Calderon (89): $130,000
- Albert Suarez (91): $300,000
This doesn’t include prospects in my Top 100 whose signing bonuses aren’t known, such as Cristian Santana (57), Melvin Jimenez (71; big-time sleeper), Osiris Ramirez (76), Gregorio Sequera (82), Moises Perez (84), Hendrik Clementina (90), Jairo Pacheco (92), Miguel Urena (93), Christopher Arias (98), Elio Serrano (99) and Jose Chacin (100).
Don’t expect any big splashes. This is going to be another “quantity over quality” signing period for the Dodgers, and that’s just fine.
