On this episode of Dugout Blues, Jared and I are excited — kinda — for the looming regular season.
This is the final few days of Spring Training, with the season opening on Thursday against the Giants. Clayton Kershaw won’t be facing off with Madison Bumgarner. MadBum broke a finger on his throwing hand after comebacker. Instead, he’ll face Ty Blach, who’s probably going to throw seven scoreless innings.
Some players who impressed in Spring Training were DJ Peters, Edwin Rios, Keibert Ruiz, Kyle Farmer and more. Keep in mind these are all small sample sizes, but the future still looks bright for the Dodgers.
Justin Turner suffered a fractured wrist after getting hit with a pitch. He’ll be out (probably) a couple months. There’s no team better equipped to be without their best hitter for a couple months than the Dodgers.
We also give you our stone cold lock predictions for the 2018 MLB season. If you remember last year, I nailed the World Series matchup … and result. I’m still sad about it. I predict one of these teams will return. You’ll have to listen to find out which one.
I had to duck out early, but Jared stuck around to answer your questions. Please keep them coming.
