Each team was kind enough to roll out the same lineup as last night’s game. Kenta Maeda and Tyler Chatwood get the starts in the morning game.
Maeda is coming off an uneven start against the Rangers. He went five innings and only allowed five hits and two runs, but walked three batters and his lone strikeout came in the fifth inning. Like Stacie said in the thread yesterday, Maeda has never faced the Cubs during the regular season. He’s pitched against the Cubs five different times in the postseason, including two starts in the 2016 NLCS. In three relief appearances in last season’s NLCS, Maeda didn’t allow a Cub to reach base.
The Dodgers should be familiar enough with Chatwood, who pitched for the Rockies for the last five seasons. Chatwood has thrown 77 1/3 innings against the Dodgers in his career, his second most against any one team. He faced the Dodgers four times last season, three times as a starter and once in relief. He threw five innings of shutout ball in one start, but in the other two he allowed a total of nine runs in 7 2/3 innings. Last June, the Dodgers drew eight walks against Chatwood in 3 1/3 innings, which matched his career-high. He leads the NL with 58 walks issued this season.

I was worried the Dodgers were going to bring Clayton Kershaw back without a rehab start, because that worked so well last time.
The plan is now for Clayton Kershaw to make a rehab start this weekend for triple-A Oklahoma City. The Mets will avoid him.

This is the third doubleheader of the season for the Dodgers, which seems like a lot.
