Mookie Betts, proving to be quite the useful mammal, led the Dodgers attack by going 2-for-4 with 2 gigantic dongs. He has three homers and 11 RBI in the young season.

He took Nats starter Joe Ross deep twice — once in the first inning and once in the 3rd. A two-run homer by Joc Pederson in the 8th inning would cap the Dodgers scoring.
Alex Wood fired 6 1/3 strong innings in route to his first victory of the season. He allowed five hits, two runs (both earned), walked three and struck out five. He, uncharacteristically, got five outs via the fly ball. His sinker just wasn’t doing much sinking on the day.
An eighth-inning home run off the bat of Howie Kendrick (sigh) off Caleb Ferguson was the only run the Nats got off the Dodgers’ bullpen. Kenley Jansen allowed two hits in the ninth, but escaped otherwise unscathed.
The Dodgers improve to 8-6 with the win, while the Nats fall to 6-7. Julio Urias takes on Max Scherzer in what’s sure to be a tough game for LA.
