The Dodgers needed late-inning heroics once again, and this time Max Muncy obliged with a three-run walkoff homer to give the Dodgers their 50th win of the season.
Julio Urias cruised through five innings for the Dodgers before running into trouble in the sixth. He left the game with the bases loaded with one out in the sixth for Adam Kolarek, who allowed a two-run double to lefty Josh VanMeter and a two-run single to righty Nick Senzel to put the Dodgers behind and put five earned runs on Urias’ line.
Muncy took over late however, as a seventh-inning solo homer off Robert Stephenson brought the Dodgers within one. Muncy then came on with two on and one out in the bottom of the ninth, and blasted the Dodgers’ second walkoff homer in three days to secure the win.
“We were able to get some things going offensively,” said Muncy.
The Dodgers look to wrap up a series victory tomorrow, with Ross Stripling matching up against Sal Romano.
