Well, the Dodgers lost 5-0 to wrap up the series with the Giants. They are three games back in the NL West and have just three more games against San Francisco this season.

While the Max Scherzer deal to the Padres is not yet official, it seems to be trending that way unless there’s truth to teams potentially jumping in to improve their offers. Meanwhile, the Dodgers added Danny Duffy from the Royals in the middle of the game as Dustin already wrote about.

Back to the game, the Dodgers did not score and finished with just four hits. There’s hardly any highlights to include here and I was told I could write this like Chad would, so this is all you are getting.
David Price was a little wild early on, spoiling my chance to point out that some of his numbers show he’s been better than many have assumed, even if his K% down. His BABIP has been unusually high and that sure seemed to pop up early on. The Dodgers’ bullpen did well after Price went 4 1/3 IP, allowing just one run in 3 2/3 IP.
But it didn’t matter much with the offense completely shutdown and failing to get a hit against the Giants’ bullpen.

The Dodgers now head to Phoenix for a three-game series with the 32-71 (!!!) Diamondbacks who are currently on a 50/51-win pace and have started to sell off pieces.
Eduardo Escobar has already been sent to the Brewers, so who knows who else will be gone by the time the series starts tomorrow at 6:40 p.m with Tony Gonsolin facing Zac Gallen.
