Last week, Diego Cartaya homered in three consecutive games. This week has been more subdued as he has just a pair of hits in four starts, but one of those was another homer as the power continues to emerge for him in 2022.

Nick Nastrini was deservedly promoted to AA recently and his debut certainly justified that decision as he carried a no-no into the 6th inning. Flying up prospect rankings, as he deserves.

Honestly, it was Dalton Rushing that basically necessitated this post. Not often do college players come in and dominate after being drafted as they’re usually already a bit gassed from their own season, not to mention he’s a catcher. Yet he is making an absolute mockery of A-ball so far, posting a .514/.628/1.000/1.628 line with five homers and nine walks to just eight strikeouts. It’s kinda ridiculous.

While Miguel Vargas got demoted on the account of the Dodgers bench not being dogshit this year, he has continued right along hitting since then, posting a typically solid .300/.404/.425/.829 line and still looking every bit ready for the majors.

Another promotion for a red-hot prospect, another dominant showing as Gavin Stone‘s ascent continues unabated with four no-hit innings and four strikeouts in his AAA debut.

As mentioned in the tweet, Yeiner Fernandez is a 19-year-old catcher in A+ who has a .295/.388/.443/.830 line and is starting to show pop. Also as mentioned, he can throw. I swear to god, it’s a catcher factory.

Not everything is always hunky-dory. Indeed, everything is a process and Maddux Bruns is looking every bit the project as expected when he was drafted. Stuff isn’t in question, as he’s missing bats at will, but he now has 33 walks in 38.1 innings.
