I really don’t have anything interesting to say about tonight’s game. Roberto Hernandez is less interesting than Clayton Kershaw. Andrew Cashner is definitely better than Odrisamer Despaigne, but not as interesting. Even Don Mattingly‘s lineup isn’t all that interesting, since it’s the same as last night other than swapping Juan Uribe and Yasiel Puig.

Here’s what I am thinking about, though. These are the 10 active relievers on the Dodger roster right now:
- Kenley Jansen
- Brian Wilson
- J.P. Howell
- Brandon League
- Jamey Wright
- Pedro Baez
- Yimi Garcia
- Carlos Frias
- Kevin Correia
- Chris Perez
Plus:
- Hernandez, unlikely to make a postseason start with Dan Haren pitching well
- Paco Rodriguez, still working his way back, possibly soon
- Onelki Garcia, reportedly healthy and looking good in the playoffs for Double-A Chattanooga
- Jose Dominguez, also rehabbing with Chattanooga
That’s 14 names. That’s perhaps twice as many as can make a potential playoff roster. Obviously, this is all premature. The Dodgers haven’t made the playoffs yet. At least a few of those names are easy cuts. Someone could get injured. At some point in the next two weeks, if the playoff picture becomes clearer, I’m sure I’ll do a post about a full potential postseason roster. But man, this could get messy.
