D-Backs 8, Dodgers 4: Two Starters Throw Batting Practice, One Has Worse Results

The Dodgers fell to the Diamondbacks tonight, 8-4, and I volunteered for this recap because I am an idiot. The Dodgers have now lost three straight games, coming off losing their first series in their past eight to the Pirates.

BURN THE SHIPS AND THIS TEAM OR SOMETHING AND STUFF!!!

Brett Anderson threw batting practice tonight for the D-Backs, giving up five runs on 10 hits, including two homers and four doubles. After an August in which he posted a 4.41 ERA, he had rebounded with just three earned in 11.2 innings in September before this outing rolled around.

Jhoulys Chacin, meanwhile, was also throwing batting practice to the Dodgers, but while I’d say at least half of the outs he recorded were hit hard, they still ended up being outs in the end. All those rockets that found gloves were unsurprisingly the difference as Chacin gave up only two runs over 5.1 innings, but allowed six hits and four walks, and he could’ve easily been tagged with another five or six hits.

Oh, in better news, Yasmani Grandal hit his first homer right-handed since 2013.

This game was boring and sucked.

What the hell happened to Aaron Hill here?

Oh and this happened.
