Dodgers @ Mets August 13, 2021: Urias vs Megill

Another abbreviated thread because I just got off work and everyone else is gone. The Dodgers lost on Thursday and the Giants won last night, to give the Giants a five game lead. Not great! The Giants and Padres are playing the Rockies and Diamondbacks, respectfully, so it would behoove the Dodgers to take care of business against the Mets.

The Dodgers still have only one Turner in the lineup as Trea Turner starts at second. Justin Turner is still day-to-day but thinks he’ll avoid the IL. Mookie Betts has a bone spur in his hip and there’s no timetable for his return, but he received an injection and will likely try to play through the season before getting it fixed. On the injury front for the Mets, Jacob deGrom is expected to not throw for at least two more weeks, putting his timeline for returning to their rotation up against it. The Mets acquired Javier Baez at the trade deadline, and he was placed on the IL today.

Truly impressive.

First pitch is scheduled for 4:10 PM PDT and will be shown on Sportsnet LA.
