Rockies 2, Dodgers 1: Tony Gonsolin returned

Dodgers lost again to the Rockies, 2-1.

But nobody got hurt.

======

Tony Gonsolin is back, or at least he’s a little bit back, starting tonight and getting two frames on 40 pitches. After a clean 1st, he gave up three hits for a run in the 2nd, but him looking relatively normal is the most important part.

On the other side, the bats continued to struggle, with the Dodgers lucky to tie the game in the 3rd with a Trayce Thompson homer.

In fact they only got one other at-bat with RISP the rest of the damn game. Yeesh.

After Gonsolin, the Dodgers then basically did a pen game from there on out. Yency Almonte, Tommy Kahnle, and Craig Kimbrel got scoreless innings to get things into the 6th, where Caleb Ferguson took over. He got two outs but faced trouble after a walk and a hit, then was removed due to throwing 25 pitches. Replacing him was Chris Martin, who got a strikeout on three pitches to move things along.

Alex Vesia and Evan Phillips got scoreless frames in the 7th and 8th, but Brusdar Graterol gave up the tie-breaking run in the 9th, though really only gave up two singles.

Meh.
