Giants 5, Dodgers 1: Offense boycotts Apple TV+ broadcast

Apologies in advance for a basic recap, but … well, I didn’t watch.

The Dodgers lost 5-1 to the rival Giants as the offense stood in solidarity with me.

Caleb Ferguson was The Opener for the Dodgers today, walking the first batter he faced but facing the minimum thanks to a double play.

Gavin Stone followed as the bulk boi, and set down the first six batters he faced. However, a double led the 4th inning off, and Mike Yastrzemski homered down the line in right for a 2-0 Giants lead.

After a scoreless 5th, Stone coughed up a Thairo Estrada homer in the 6th to make it 3-0.

Stone only got one out in the inning and walked a batter after the homer before being relieved.

Ryan Yarbrough then entered and loaded the bases with two outs, but escaped the 6th without further damage. He continued in the 7th, giving up a single and stolen base to start but then striking out the next three batters to strand the runner. Yarbrough faced the minimum in the 8th, giving up a single but erasing it with a double play.

Meanwhile, the Dodgers basically didn’t do shit against Sean Manaea, only totaling three singles through seven frames, and one of them got erased by a double play.

So … yeah.

The Giants pen took over in the 8th with Tyler Rogers, and the Dodgers got their first baserunner in scoring position. Of course, it wasn’t really their doing, as after a two-out single from James Outman, Jason Heyward struck out and only reached thanks to a Patrick Bailey passed ball. A walk from Mookie Betts followed to load the bases, and Freddie Freeman singled to score a run and make it 3-1.

However, Camilo Doval entered for Will Smith and got a groundout to end that rally.

All the tension was sucked out of the game when Yarbrough then gave up a two-out single in the 9th and then a Tyler Fitzgerald homer to make it 5-1.

Doval then continued in the 9th and closed out the game.

Freddie did this at least:
