The road trip in Philly started off about as rough as possible, as Bobby Miller got destroyed and Zack Wheeler mostly cruised until he exited early with back tightness. Uh … yeah, that was about it in a 10-1 Dodgers loss to the Phillies.
======
After an impressive rookie season, Miller has struggled with both health and results in his sophomore year, and facing the Phillies tonight certainly didn’t help his 2024.
Over four innings, Miller got shelled for nine runs on 10 hits and three walks, including a pair of homers, striking out just two and was left in there to wear it for 87 pitches.
On the other end, Wheeler mostly just gave up just Cavan Biggio‘s first homer as a Dodger and third of the year in the 5th to make it 9-1.
Out of the pen, Yohan Ramirez got a couple scoreless innings, then Michael Petersen gave up a homer to make it 10-1 while only getting two outs. Enrique Hernandez was brought in to finish off the frame with an infield pop, and then got another clean frame to close out the Phils.
Their pen, meanwhile, went four shutout to end the game.
Thrilling.
