Not much to say, the Dodgers got swept in a mini-series against the Padres, which is what I expected given the relative health of the two teams at the moment. However, it’s also painful because they somehow had a lead in the first game. In this game? They got behind early and it stayed that way in the 8-1 loss.
The lineup being this bad at the moment makes the big leads they somehow got and the bullpen blew more damaging than usual.

Clayton Kershaw got battered around a bit, part of that coming as a result of errors and unearned runs, but he wasn’t effective anyway. The zero strikeouts basically tell the story: 3.2 IP, 6 H, 7 R (3 ER), 1 BB, 0 K, 83 Pitches.
Joe Kelly got the final out of the 4th, and Michael Kopech then gave the pen some hope with an impressive debut, striking out all three batters he faced in the 5th.
Brent Honeywell Jr. then got the final three innings, somehow only giving up a run despite struggling through five hits and a pair of walks.

The only run for the Dodgers came on a Gavin Lux double in the 3rd, and even that resulted in negative vibes, as Shohei Ohtani got caught going for home.
