Hello, it’s Sunday, the day you’re most likely to be stuck with me for a far shittier version of the Game Thread. However, there’s still plenty of reason to be excited, because the Dodgers are starting June by going for a sweep of the Yankees, and they have ace Yoshinobu Yamamoto on the bump.

Dave Roberts already said yesterday that Hyeseong Kim would not be starting today, so him not being in the lineup is not a surprise, but that doesn’t make it any less puzzling. A lefty, sure, but a soft-tosser who seems like as soft a matchup for Kim as he’ll ever get. Maybe they’re trying to let Miguel Rojas play himself off the roster like Chris Taylor and Austin Barnes, I dunno.
On Saturday the @Dodgers' Hyeseong Kim became the only MLB player in the modern era to have:

Luis Garcia is now hurt somehow, and so we get Noah Davis again. Joy.
The Dodgers recalled RHP Noah Davis and placed RHP Luis Garcia on the injured list with a right adductor strain, retroactive to May 29.

They also signed almost old friend Kyle Funkhouser.
Latest #Dodgers MiLB free agent signee is Kyle Funkhouser. Was playing in Mexico after missing essentially last 3 seasons due to injuries. Has 70 career games in Majors with Tigers.

LAD drafted him 35th overall in 2015 but the sides did not come to an agreement to sign.
Sure.

Mookie Betts is supposedly available despite a toe fracture, and he’s making progress, but I’m not gonna hold my breath.
Mookie Betts said today is the first day he’s putting on a shoe since he fractured the tip of his fourth toe on Wednesday. He’s not available to play today and will know more about the toe after he tests it out. He’s optimistic about getting back soon.

Emmet Sheehan returning would be a sight for sore eyes, and he looks great so far in rehab.
The Dodgers have been very excited by how Emmet Sheehan has looked in his recovery from Tommy John surgery this year
