Cardinals 3, Dodgers 2: Plating 3 runs in 3 batters was more than enough against this Dodgers lineup

Remarkably, the Dodgers have found a way to look even worse than ever in this four-game slide, as they fell to the Cardinals again, 3-2.

======

Roki Sasaki basically had one bad sequence in the 3rd where he went double, double for a run, and two-run homer on an 0-2 pitch that made it 3-0.

That was all he gave up in six innings, but it was enough because the lineup continued to not really get anything going.

The pen kept them down the rest of the way, but for naught.

——

Michael McGreevy gave up a walk and single with one out in the 2nd, but worked around that and faced the minimum otherwise through six innings. That was in large part thanks to four double plays that killed any semblance of a rally.

They later tried to get going against the pen with a two-out single and walk, but then Andy Pages swung at two balls out of the zone to kill that one off.

As a last gasp, they plated two runs in the 9th with two outs on four consecutive hits to provide just enough hope to fans for things to be crushing.

Sigh.
