The Dodgers (38-21) bounced back from a bullpen hiccup on Saturday with a 9-1 win in the finale against the Phillies on Sunday. It ended a 5-1 homestand and the Dodgers gained four games in the standings over the Padres, who are now 5.5 games back in the division.
Today, they head to Arizona for a quick four-game series against the Diamondbacks. The Diamondbacks (31-27) took advantage of a 12 game stretch where they only played the Rockies and Giants, going 10-2 to take their record from 21-22 to 31-24 and actually moved into a tie for second with the Padres thanks to their run differential. However, they went to Seattle over the weekend and got swept, with two of the losses coming in walk-off fashion to fall back into third place. The Dodgers and Diamondbacks met in the first series of the season, where the Dodgers swept in LA. Emmet Sheehan gets the ball for the Dodgers in the opener, with old not-friend Eduardo Rodriguez going for Arizona.

A pretty standard lineup against lefties for the Dodgers today, with Miguel Rojas getting the start at second and Alex Call starting in left. The Diamondbacks get Pavin Smith off the 60-day IL. Smith started the first two games of the season against the Dodgers, but underwent a loose body elbow surgery that essentially cost him the first two months of the season.

Not a ton of Dodger related news pregame (still losing my mind over the Myles Garrett trade, tbh), but here’s the pitching matchups for the rest of the series.
