Orioles @ Dodgers June 21, 2026: Sheehan starts the Father’s Day rubber match to close out the homestand

The Dodgers (49-28) dropped the middle game against Baltimore, snapping a perfect homestand and four-game winning streak with a 3-2 loss. Trevor Rogers dominated through seven one-hit innings and the offense finally came to life a bit in the ninth, scoring two runs but stranding the tying run on third for the loss. Today, the Dodgers look to wrap up the homestand with a series win with Emmet Sheehan going against Brandon Young.

A borderline normal lineup for the Dodgers vs a righty, but Dalton Rushing gets the day off after the night game with Chuckie Robinson starting behind the plate. Tommy Edman started the first two games of the series and had five hits in nine ABs, but sits today with Ryan Ward in left and Alex Freeland at second.

Will Smith won’t be with the team on their upcoming nine-game roadtrip.

The Dodgers travel to Minnesota next week before returning back to the West Coast for three in San Diego and in Sacramento. Smith won’t be activated for that and he could require a rehab assignment depending on how the next 10ish days goes for him. They’re hopeful he’ll be back for the next homestand.

Teoscar Hernandez is closer to returning.

Teo’s starting a rehab assignment Tuesday with OKC and he could be back for the A’s series, which begins next Monday.

First pitch is scheduled for 1:10 PM PT and will be on SportsNet LA.

I've been writing about the Dodgers since I graduated from Long Beach State, where I covered the Dirtbags in my senior year. I'm either very good or very bad at puns.
