Phillies 10, Dodgers 7: At least Mookie Betts homered twice?

With apologies to those who had confidence going into today’s game, the result was pretty much as expected, as the Phillies cruised to an 10-7 victory over the Dodgers behind their ace against … not that. It wasn’t as close as the final score.

Actually, Cristopher Sanchez didn’t look sharp today and the Dodgers just helped him by chasing everything. They made things close in the middle innings thanks to the Phillies defense and Orion Kerkering having flashbacks against Andy Pages, but couldn’t land the big blow.

That cost them because Emmet Sheehan continued to be bad, and even worse his velocity was back to April readings of 93-94 MPH.

Alex Vesia entered later and ensured the game would end the way everybody expected.

63-38, the Dodgers are now a half-game behind the Brewers for the best record in baseball.

The series continues tomorrow on TBS at 12:40 PM HT/3:40 PM PT/6:40 PM ET with Eric Lauer on the bump against Zack Wheeler. Less than ideal.
