Gonna be honest, man, there wasn’t a lot to talk about from this one. The Dodgers played like they had nothing at stake, and the Padres were motivated to clinch their playoff spot in a 4-2 loss.
The Dodgers stranded their chances, generally were ineffective, and played sloppy later in the game. They played like they didn’t care, so they get a recap to match.

The most noteworthy thing is Tyler Glasnow looked great despite being charged with three runs due to the defense screwing him late.
1-for-9 with RISP and sloppy defense cost them any chance at this one. Not great, but Shohei and Edwin looked healthy.

Shohei Ohtani also went 2-for-5 with a single, double, a strikeout, and two flyballs to the warning track. He seems much healthier. Same optimism for Edwin Diaz, who got a 1-2-3 frame with two strikeouts and sat 97-99 MPH.

The Dodgers will be the #2 seed in the NL, as the Brewers have the tiebreaker. They have nothing left to play for other than potential home-field advantage over the Rays in a World Series matchup.
The season will conclude with a three-game trip to San Francisco for a rivalry series starting at 4:15 PM HT/7:15 PM PT/10:15 PT ET tomorrow. It’ll be Tarik Skubal back from the bereavement list up against Yunior Marte.
