Coming off a rough sweep, the Dodgers immediately had to head out on the road to Milwaukee, and things got worse. In the context of the season, Yoshinobu Yamamoto turned in the worst start of his career, not making it through the 1st inning. Obviously the Dodgers didn’t do shit on offense, which is basically the norm now, as they got beat soundly by the Brewers by a 9-1 margin.
======
Against the #15 offense in baseball and desperately needing their ace to come through, Yoshinobu Yamamoto gave up a double, walk, three-run homer to Andrew Vaughn (lol), single, walk, had his inning extended thanks to a Mookie Betts throwing error that scored another run, and gave up another single for another run to make it 5-0. He was at 41 pitches at that point, and Dave Roberts came out to end his suffering.

Pathetic stuff, and that was about game.
Jack Dreyer took over and got out of the 1st, then got scoreless innings in the 2nd and 3rd. Lou Trivino got a scoreless 4th, but then Will Klein coughed up a couple runs in the 5th to make it 7-0.
Anthony Banda got a scoreless 6th, but recent call-up Julian Fernandez got the 7th and gave up a two-run homer to make it 9-0. He at least finished out the 8th as well, so no further arms had to be used.

On the other end, not much was going on, as Freddy Peralta got six shutout frames against the Dodgers.
My mentality in games like this when they put together a cute little rally is simply hoping none of them gets hurt while running the bases.

Their pen then closed out the game, with the Dodgers only managing to break-up a shutout in the 8th thanks to an Esteury Ruiz single that deflected off the pitcher’s glove.
So true.
