Charles Davalan, aka Chuck D, has been struggling at the plate in the Arizona Fall League. The 2025 draftee was one of the Midwest League’s top bats in his full-season debut, making his .167/.333/.300 slash line with Glendale a bit of a surprise. He’s also relearning second base defensively, which could be impacting his offense.
So, it was nice to see the lefty crush the first pitch he saw last week out to right field for his first home run in the Fall League. He finished the week going 4-for-13 and was hit by yet another pitch. He leads the league in HBP with five.

Righty Brooks Auger started that game and, after a strikeout and a single, he threw a 95 MPH 1-0 fastball up and away to the Scorpions’ No. 3 hitter, who blasted it out to left field for a home run. That hitter was Zyhir Hope.
Auger would go on to retire the next five batters he faced, striking out a pair. He got his second strikeout of the game on an ABS challenge from his catcher Anson Aroz, his teammate this past season in Great Lakes.
Lefty Cody Morse relieved Auger and worked a scoreless frame. The lanky sidearmer struck out a pair, including freezing Hope with a slider to end the third.
Morse also pitched on Thursday, surrendering an unearned run after he allowed the leadoff batter to reach via a throwing error which would eventually score on a passed ball. Morse still hasn’t allowed an earned run in five appearances and has struck out seven in 3 ⅓ innings overall.
Chase Harlan had a solid week, going 3-for-9 at the plate. He did commit his second error, a wild throw that scored a pair of runs in the Desert Dogs blowout loss on Thursday. Harlan needs to continue to work on his defense over the next few years to make the most of his potential.

Eduardo Quintero had another tough week, going 0 for 11 with a pair of walks. The 20-year-old outfielder has struck out nine times in nine games and collected just four hits, though he has drawn seven walks and stolen a base.
Luke Fox had his first rough start of his fall campaign. The southpaw gave up three runs, two of which were earned, over 2 ⅓ innings. He struck out a pair and now has a 3.60 ERA in three starts.
Sam Horn made his fourth appearance of the Fall League on Friday and worked his third scoreless frame in a row. The righty threw his first and only changeup in that game, but again worked off of his fastball and curve, recording a strikeout on a 96.7 MPH heater.
