Dan Haren is looking to stop the Dodgers’ 2-game losing streak against the Brewers on Sunday, and that’s a little scary. But, Haren has been pretty good in his last two starts. He has faced the Angels and Braves — a couple of teams with some good home run hitters.

Haren’s last two starts
13 1/3 IP, 9 H, 3 R, 3 ER, 1 BB, 11 K, 2.03 ERA, .188 BAA
He’ll face a Brewers’ team he has been pretty successful against in a limited number of innings in his career: 2-0, 0.84 ERA, 25 strikeouts in 21 1/3 innings. He last faced them on Aug. 3, 2013, when he threw seven scoreless innings in Milwaukee.
After Clayton Kershaw faltered (by his standards) last night, Haren will need to be the stopper — something that sounds terrifying, but the numbers and recent success show it might not be all bad.
Darwin Barney is making his first start at shortstop since July 6, 2012. He played six of his nine games at Triple-A Albuquerque at shortstop and made three errors, for what it’s worth. He’s no Miguel Rojas, that’s for sure.

Ned Colletti went on MLB Network Radio this morning and said both Joc Pederson and Alex Guerrero are expected to be promoted on Sept. 1. Mike will have more about Pederson in a post tomorrow morning. It’s nice to see the Dodgers aren’t going to screw around with guys when it comes to these call-ups.
Pederson isn’t on the 40-man roster, which is full. Normally, someone would have to be designated for assignment to make room for the power-hitting prospect, but Stephen Fife — who just underwent Tommy John surgery — is not yet on the 60-day disabled list. He’ll presumably be moved to it to make room for Pederson.
Guerrero should provide a little offense off the bench, seeing as it has been thinned out with Juan Uribe joining Hanley Ramirez on it (though, Ramirez is expected back in a couple weeks). Guerrero will get a month to audition (in limited time, I’m sure), but I’d say it’s a long shot for him to make the postseason roster.
