Kenta Maeda has seen a lot of the Diamondbacks this season. Today, he’ll make his sixth and final start against the Snakes of 2016. In 28 and a third innings pitched against the Dbacks, Maeda has allowed 11 runs (10 earned) and a 1.02 WHIP. He’s been slightly better against them at home than he has been at Chase Field, which runs contrary to his overall splits — by a small margin, Maeda’s been better on the road in most categories.
Things went very, very well for the Dodgers the last time they faced Zack Greinke. On September 5 at Dodger Stadium, Greinke got tagged for eight runs, allowing five home runs and getting chased after four and two-thirds innings pitched.
Of course, the first time the Dodgers saw Greinke this season, it was in Arizona, and he fared much better then. Back on June 13, Greinke pitched seven innings of two-run ball against his former team, giving up seven hits and walking two while striking out six. One of those hits was a Corey Seager home run. Seager has reached base in six of his seven plate appearances against Greinke. Today, he bats second.
Greinke has followed up a brilliant 2015 campaign with lackluster numbers in 2016. In 24 starts for Arizona, Greinke has a 4.54 ERA (4.09 FIP) and a 1.24 WHIP across 146 and two-thirds innings pitched. In spite of this, the Diamondbacks are 15-9 in his starts.

In today’s Dodger news, it’ll be Brock Stewart starting tomorrow, not Bud Norris, as originally announced.

[table id=5/]Dave Roberts said Stewart was being held back in case of injury-shortened starts by Kershaw or Hill. Wasn't needed so available to start Sat
