Just when the Dodgers seemingly got some traction with a seven-run offensive explosion and a gem of a start by Kenta Maeda on Thursday in Miami, they will have to wait to see if the rain clears in Washington D.C. before they can pick up where they left off.
The Dodgers-Nationals series opener was rained out on Friday afternoon. A split doubleheader is scheduled for Saturday, but the weather may not cooperate. Game one is penciled in for 11:05 AM PST and game two at 5:05 PM PST.

Also a reminder that Skittles are bad.
There’s rain in the forecast Saturday morning with thunderstorms expected in the afternoon. This is the only trip to Washington D.C. for the Dodgers this season. A possible makeup day that could work is June 4, an off day for both clubs. No decision has been made by MLB yet.
Should they be able to get the games in on Saturday, the Dodgers will send Ross Stripling to the mound for the first game and Rich Hill for the night game.
Ross Stripling will start the day game tomorrow. Rich Hill will start the night game.

Both teams will have a 26th man available to use for the second game only.
#Dodgers Dave Roberts said RHP Erik Goeddel is expected to join team Saturday. Could be added as 26th man allowed for doubleheader. LHP Tony Cingrani also expected to be activated from DL

The Dodgers claimed right-handed pitcher Erik Goeddel off waivers from the Seattle Mariners on Friday. In order to make room for Goeddel on the 40-man roster, the Dodgers designated Henry Owens for assignment. The 29-year old right-hander has pitched well for Seattle this season, going 2-0 with a 1.23 ERA and nine strikeouts in 7 1/3 innings over five relief appearances. Goeddel spent his first four seasons with the New York Mets and has a career record of 5-4 with a 3.78 ERA and 118 strikeouts in 112 innings pitched over 115 games. Interestingly, the Dodgers also signed Erik’s brother, Tyler Goeddel the day prior to a Minor League contract.

Here’s hoping for some Dodger baseball this weekend. Maybe Enrique Hernandez was the one who brought on the downpour with his dancing.
See more of these pregame shenanigans on my @instagram story. @kikehndez & @YasielPuig have moves. Since they won today, they have to do this before every game. pic.twitter.com/hcR8MzEtq2
