The Dodgers have had a roller-coaster season so far in 2019. They started 8-2, dropped six in a row, and have now won three straight with a 6-1 victory over the Reds tonight.

Things started quickly for the Dodgers as they struck first in the 1st behind singles from Corey Seager, Enrique Hernandez, and Alex Verdugo.
They continued in the 2nd, as by some miracle Rocky Gale reached on a single (don’t worry, he still managed to make four outs in four plate appearances today) and then Joc Pederson bombed his eighth dong of the young season to make it 3-0.
The Dodgers followed that with three consecutive singles from Corey Seager, Max Muncy, and Enrique to net another run and make it 4-0 early.
The attack then took a break for a bit until finally resuming in the 7th with a two-out rally. Muncy doubled, Enrique was intentionally walked, and Verdugo made them pay with a two-run double to make it 6-1.
Of course, there was the matter of that only run the Reds scored, which was thanks to back-to-back doubles in the third from opposing starter Tyler Mahle and Joey Votto off Kenta Maeda. But in 6.2 innings, that was all the damage he allowed, as he struck out five and limited the Reds to just three walks and four hits, providing a strong 98 pitches.
The bullpen were also on their game tonight, starting with Scott Alexander finishing the 7th by striking out his only batter and ending with perfect scoreless innings from both Joe Kelly (!!!) and Yimi Garcia (!!!).

The Dodgers are now 11-8 on the year, including 8-4 at home, and thanks to the Padres losing again they are back to being tied for first in the NL West.

Tomorrow the Dodgers go for the sweep of the Reds with Walker Buehler on the bump against Sonny Gray at 9:10 AM HST/12:10 PM PST/3:30 PM EST.
