After narrowly avoiding a sweep against the Diamondbacks, the Dodgers returned home and slugged the hell out of the struggling Rockies. They piled up 17 hits as they won quite the Coors Field game in Dodger Stadium by a 16-9 score.

The Rockies took the early lead off Walker Buehler in the 1st behind a lead-off homer for Trevor Story and two doubles for another run to make it 2-0. But the Dodgers came right back in their half of the 1st, with Joc Pederson answering the lead-off homer with one of his own, his 29th dong of the year.
They then tied the game up after Matt Beaty was hit by a pitch, forcing a run in after a Corey Seager single, Cody Bellinger walk, and Chris Taylor infield single loaded the bases.
In the 2nd, things started out with Gavin Lux‘s debut and he took all of one pitch to get his first hit.
Buehler then singled, Joc doubled off the very top of the short wall in right for a run, Seager scored a run on a ground out, A.J. Pollock doubled to plate another, Bellinger was intentionally walked, and Beaty singled on the infield for yet another. That accounted for a four-run inning to make it 6-2.
Unfortunately, the game came back into play in the 3rd after Buehler surrendered a two-run dong to Nolan Arenado to cut the lead in half to 6-4. Of course, because Dodger Stadium is now Coors Field or something, the Dodgers hit back in their half of the 3rd. Lux started things with a ringing double into right-center field, Buehler walked, and then Joc followed by pummeling a ball for his 30th dong and a 9-4 lead.
Taylor tacked on another run in the 4th, leading off the inning with his 10th dong of the year to make it 10-4. The fan who tried to catch it was not so great, though.
Buehler continued to struggle in the 5th, barely getting out of the inning. He gave up two doubles, a single, a hit-by-pitch, and a sacrifice fly for two more runs to make it a 10-6 game. Buehler didn’t have one of his best outings, going the five necessary for the win and striking out five to no walks, but giving up six runs on eight hits.
The Dodgers put room between them and the Rockies in the 6th again. Beaty started the frame with another lead-off dong, his 8th of the year.
Will Smith followed with a walk and Lux reached on an error, then Seager brought everybody home with his 13th homer of the year to make it 14-6.
Things got a bit hilarious in the 7th after two more solo shots extended the lead to 16-6 after Bellinger (44th) and Taylor (11th) went back-to-back to start.
Meanwhile, Kenta Maeda started his move to the pen taking over for Buehler in the 6th. He got his first six batters, but gave up a double to start the 8th. That run then scored on two ground outs, but he got a third to get out of that frame.
Kenta ended up getting a four-inning save, but he also gave up back-to-back homers in the 9th to make it 16-9 in the end. The positive is that he looked great in the innings where he might get as a reliever and struggled primarily in the later innings after they decided to save the pen or whatever.

The Dodgers are now the third team in the majors to reach 90 wins and are 90-40.
