After securing a series win with a victory last night, the Dodgers continued to stay hot with an 8-3 win this afternoon, making it five straight wins and a sweep in the Freeway Series over the Angels.

Julio Teheran started for the Angels, and the Dodgers got to him in the 2nd … almost. Chris Taylor reached on an error, but was then picked off in a throwback.
Edwin Rios doubled later and then pulled up a bit lame on his hamstring. For whatever reason, they left him in, and of course Matt Beaty immediately followed with a single into the gap and was thrown out trying to stretch it to a double before a hobbling Rios could cross the plate. 0-0.
Dustin May started for the Dodgers and looked great, but he did give up the first run after two singles in the 2nd for a 1-0 hole. The Dodgers immediately came back in the 3rd thanks to Keibert Ruiz making his MLB debut.
Mookie Betts then followed with a single and stole a base before Max Muncy continued to break out of his slump a bit with a towering two-run shot to make it 3-1.
In the 4th, the Dodgers added to their lead and knocked Teheran out. A walk to Enrique Hernandez was followed by a Beaty single. With two out, Mookie came through with an RBI single before Corey Seager snapped out of a mini-slump by destroying a three-run shot to make it 7-1.
The Angels did get on the board in the 4th when Anthony Rendon led off with a solo shot against May. He actually only lasted 4.1 innings because he threw 88 pitches, giving up two runs on seven hits, but surrendering no walks and striking out two.
Brusdar Graterol took over for May in the 5th and got the two outs to end the frame.
Beaty then got the run back in the 6th, getting a solo shot to make it 8-2.
Scott Alexander took over in the 6th and they left him in for two innings. He gave up three hits, including a solo homer, but did his job by eating the innings.
Dennis Santana then entered in the 8th to protect an 8-3 lead, and he was surprisingly wild with three walks, but did get two scoreless frames to end the game, including one strikeout.

The Dodgers are now 16-7 on the year, but since the Rockies won, they are still only two games up in the NL West.
Tomorrow the Dodgers drive back home and welcome the Mariners for three game starting at 3:40 PM HST/6:40 PM PST/9:40 PM EST. Ross Stripling will take the mound against Justin Dunn.
