After dropping the series opener, the Dodgers rebounded with a homer barrage of their own led by Max Muncy and Joey Gallo. Tyler Anderson gave up dingers of his own but continued his metronome like consistency for the team in the 6-3 victory over the Giants.
======
Anderson took a grand total of one pitch to be behind in the game, giving up a Lewis Brinson homer, his third of the series already for a 1-0 lead to the Giants.
It was hard not to think of the dong barrage yesterday at that point, but he didn’t give up another run until the 6th, working out of some trouble in the 2nd and 5th in the form of two singles. In that 6th, he was victimized by a Brandon Crawford homer after a single for two more runs, though that was all he ended up surrendering.
7 IP, 8 H, 3 R, 0 BB, 3 K, 87 Pitches
It was enough.

For the pen game, John Brebbia started things off and put up a zero, giving up just a two-out double. However, noted Dodger celebration hater Jarlin Garcia had a nightmare in the 2nd, giving up a Muncy double, walking Justin Turner, and throwing a 3-1 meatball to Gallo, which he destroyed to right for a 3-1 lead and his 16th of the year.
Things didn’t get much better in Garcia’s second inning of work, as Trea Turner led things off with a single, and later Muncy lined his 17th dinger to right to extend the lead to 5-1.
That knocked Garcia out, and Tyler Rogers followed by getting seven outs without allowing runs. However, Dominic Leone took over in the 6th and immediately gave up a homer to Muncy, his second of the game and 18th of the year. 6-3.
Leone did get six outs, and Zack Littell closed out the Dodgers in the 8th.

For the Dodgers pen, it was relatively easy work. Chris Martin got a perfect frame that included two strikeouts in the 8th. That setup “Let It Go” time with Craig Kimbrel closing things out in the 9th with a 1-2-3 frame. Easy? Easy. Amazing.

Dave Roberts, players love him.
