In his last four starts, Ryu has gone six innings in all of them and thrown between 100 and 109 pitches. While it’d be nice to see him be a little more efficient with his pitches, but it’s hard to complain about a consistent 6-inning starter.

His last four games haven’t been as great as he was early in the season, but he isn’t walking hitters, either. He’s walked just six hitters in his last 42 1/3 innings pitched (1.3 BB/9) and 17 in 76 1/3 IP. With that comes a higher hits per nine innings rate. He’s giving up 9.0 H/9, up from 8.5 in his rookie season. To make up for that, he’s striking out more hitters (7.5 K/9, compared to 7.2 K/9) and allowing fewer home runs (0.6 HR/9, compared to 0.7).

He’ll try to remain consistent against the Padres Sunday. In two previous outings, Ryu owns a 0.68 ERA against them, so I’d say it’s a fair bet he’ll be just fine today.

In other news, Juan Uribe is going to rehab with the Rancho Cucamonga Quakes on Monday and Tuesday, which puts him in line for a return to the Dodgers when they begin a 4-game series against the Cardinals on Thursday night.

Andre Ethier sits, as expected, against a left-hander today. Yasiel Puig doesn’t, even though he probably should.
